The Best Looking Cars of All Time

Posted on: 01/01/2015

Without doubt, the beauty of a car is in the eye of the beholder. What is considered as the apple of one person’s eye will be the epitome of ugly to the man standing next to them.

The age and era of a car can also affect one’s affinity for a certain vehicle – people often pick cars from the era of their youth, that they grew up with and evoke fond memories at the very thought.

So considering that a car’s attractiveness is so subjective, we probably have no business making a list of ‘the best looking cars of all time’. Well, we agree – so we want you to share yours too! Take a look at the cars that made our list, and let us know which ones you agree with, and which ones you’d prefer to leave in the past.

Ford GT40

This little piece of engineering mastery came about when Henry Ford got his knickers in a twist, over Enzo Ferrari pulling out of a deal where he’d originally declared an interest in selling his company. Many millions had already been spent working the deal, but Enzo decided to withdraw due to a conflict of interests over the motor racing aspect of it.

Well, ‘thank God for revenge’ is all we can say. Talk about a stunningly good use of anger!

Aston Martin DB4

Perhaps not everyone’s first choice when they consider the Aston Martin marque, but a beautiful car nonetheless, we think you will agree.

Ferrari 857S

Again, there will are many Ferrari’s that could make the cut here and everyone will have their own particular favourite. But for us, this little beauty epitomizes all that’s wonderful about the racing pedigree of the little prancing horse.

Mini Cooper Classic

The Italian Job. The original Mini Cooper certainly blew the doors off. Enough said.

Bugatti 57sc

An entirely new design by Jean Bugatti, son of founder Ettore, the sleek Bugatti type 57’s were made for just six years between 1934 and 1940.

Porsche 911

The Porsche 911 is a timeless classic that still looks fresh, despite the fact that it really has changed very little in the 50 years since it first graced our roads.

Alfa Romeo Spider

Another Italian classic. The Alfa Romeo Spider is a roadster that weaves a web of perfection, and was made iconic by The Graduate.

E-Type Jaguar Roadster

Another classic Brit to add to the canon, the Jaguar E-type tore up and re-wrote the rule book. Built between 1961 and 1975, even now, it still turns heads when it passes on a summer’s day.

’57 Chevy Nomad

The best in American largesse, the ’75 Chevy Nomad will forever be a great way to cruise down the road.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Well, if we’re going to start with a beast, we may as well round it off with one. The sixth element of the periodic table is carbon, just in case you’re curious about its name.
