The Five Best Performance Car Blogs
Posted on: 19/06/2014When you write a performance car blog yourself, you tend to spend a fair bit of time mooching about online, looking at, among other things, other p-car blogs.
This being the case, we decided to share with you the best of our findings, to help cut the time you might spend trying to find them yourself, among the myriad blogs that are out there covering the same territory.
Performance cars as a subject is actually quite a diverse one, covering the many aspects of the enthusiast, from historical to present, customisation, restoration, racing in various forms, engine, bodywork, from professional to DIY, the span is quite exhausting.
I would say there are some even better sites out there for some topics covered here, but this blog is all about the blog. Over the years, many blogs have come and gone, some of them very good ones, but ones nevertheless that are no longer updated and so drop off the ‘current’ precipice.
So, all that clear, here for us is the Best Five Performance Car Blogs currently out there on t’internet. Ok. Ten. Don’t ever let it be said we short-change you:
1. LowTech
Really cool vehicles, a humorous tone to the blurb and some pretty impressive photos too. I don’t know why, but cars always seem to look best in America. This site focuses almost exclusively on throwback customisations from the Golden Age of American vehicles.
2. Build Threads
A really good place to go to catch up or follow various labours of love; people spending every spare hour and pound in the stripping down and rebuilding of their favourite ride. Time lapse films for most of them. Any true enthusiast will find this site rewarding and educational. There’s things like a “Beck Kustoms ‘Kuda”, an ’83 Porsche Targa, a Ford Cosworth and a Triumph TR6, among many others.
3. World Rally
Does what it says on the tin. Great access to the big and the bold of the rally world, with exclusive interviews, exhaustive coverage of the season and a real strong insight into the industry and its players.
4. Performance Car
Describes itself as news, reviews and opinion from a complete petrolhead.
A pretty comprehensive coverage, professionally laid out and covering racing, car reviews, projects, features and even roads and routes.
5. Euro Dragster
For the last word in UK based Drag racing with al that’s happening on the scene and the various stars in this particular firmament.
6. Hemmings Daily
Classic car news source, but veers mostly towards performance cars, auctions, meets and a good stack of pics. Updated regularly by a real enthusiast.
7. Formula 1
There are a great many places to go to get your F1 fix, but this blog is better than most, well written insightful and informative.
8. Autoblog
US based, but a world-view nonetheless of the world’s news, a great source of information for all things car, be it F1, Hollywood or what’s happening in Shanghai.
