What Are the Most Desirable Cars Around the UK?

Using a clever algorithm that analyses factors including customer demand, stock levels and speed-of-sale, Auto Trader have compiled a list of the most desirable cars in each region of the UK – and the cars featured are far more practical than Porsches, Bugattis and Lamborghinis.
It’s clear to see that the Land Rover Range Rover is the most-wanted car across the UK, with the Sport or Evoque models of this stylish SUV topping the list in no less than six regions. The Seat Ibiza and MINI Hatch One have both proved most popular in two regions each, whereas the rest of the UK seems to be on the hunt for an eclectic mix of models from manufacturers including Nissan, Vauxhall and BMW.
Using Auto Trader’s data from January, we’ve created this map to illustrate which cars are in the highest demand in each UK region. It’s no surprise that the Range Rover Sport is the car of choice in the rugged Scottish Highlands and Islands, as well as in hilly Yorkshire and Northern Ireland, or that the compact Mitsubishi ASX SUV is what most Londoners want for safely navigating the capital’s bustling traffic.
