Awesome Car Collections: Simon Cowell
Posted on: 29/08/2014As we have seen in some previous blogs, there are quite a few known faces with a penchant for quick motors. But there’s a difference between just liking a fast car and being what’s recognised as ‘a bit of a collector’.
Simon Cowell, love him or hate him, can definitely be called ‘a bit of a collector’. In a relatively short period of time, Mr X has waded through quite a handsome selection of motors. And by handsome, I mean well over thirty and counting…
Not only that, he also proved he’s no slouchy show-off, personally posting a lap time that proved pretty hard to beat in Clarkson’s Top Gear ‘Star In A Reasonably Priced Car’ competition.

It would appear that if he likes a make, he has a pop at more than one model, more often than not. In the case of Jaguar and Rolls Royce, quite a few. So here’s an A-Z of the cars we know he’s owned at some point.
AC Cobra Mk IV
A proper Boys Own sports car, who wouldn’t love a rip round in one of these classics?
Aston Martin DB7
Aston Martin DB9 Volante
No collection would be complete without an Aston Martin and he’s snaffled two of the very best for some understated British panache.

Audi A8
Audi R8
Ah, the R8: Audi, already streets ahead in the style stakes, pretty much rewrote the books with this one.
Bentley Arnage T
Bentley Azure
Bentley Continental GT
Why have one, when one can have three?
BMW 7 Series
One of the more practical ‘about town’ vehicles, presumably for getting around the place without being too noticed.
Bugatti Veyron
Bought in LA for something in the region of 1mill, Cowell sold it after just two rides. What’s he not telling us?
Caterham Seven
Now, there’s a ride.
Ferrari California
Ferrari F430 Spider
Ferrari 360
Ah, Ferrari. Another pre-requisite for any discerning palate. Which one would you have? I have to say, I do like the 599…
Ford Bronco
A bit of a funster pick, for those off-road moments.
Jaguar Eagle Speedster
Jaguar E-Type Series 2
Jaguar F-Type Coupe
Jaguar XK
Jaguar XK120
Well, a self-confessed Jaguar fan, he’s pretty much covered all the bases with this little lot; the Eagle Speedster being the privately-built new version of the old E-Type, but with upgraded everything. Nice.
Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
If you wanna be loud, there are louder statements in the Lambo shed, but I’m guessing this is loud enough. No need to be upstaged by your car now, is there?
Mercedes SL55 AMG
Another practical number, presumably. Tho quite a slick one, admittedly.
Mini Cooper S
The ultimate cheeky run-around, very much a tongue in cheek statement when seen in context of the other cars he has. I guess if anyone, he can afford to crack a joke like that.
Mitsubishi Evo
Ok, so this is where the race-training came in then.
Porsche 911
Porsche 918 Spyder
The 918 is a bonafide monster, but presumably one he can tame, his stable being what it is.
