Top Gear Star in a reasonably priced car: 13 laps you would be crazy to miss
Posted on: 11/02/2014The legendary Top Gear track has played host to more than its fair share of celebrities over the years. The cars may be boring but the laps are anything but.
The good
Hugh Jackman
Jackman was definitely feeling competitive when he took to the track determined to make The Stig proud. Here he is in the ever reasonable Vauxhall Astra.
Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz on the Top Gear track, just take a minute to take that in because no you’re not dreaming. She tackled the Korean gearbox of the Kia Cee'd and turned the air blue in style.
Rowan Atkinson
Okey dokey here we go, Mr Bean himself takes to the track in the Kia and it’s worth it for the comedy facial expressions alone
The bad
Michael Gambon
The Christening of Gambon corner took place when the man himself spun the original Suzuki Liana off the track in dramatic fashion.
Terry Wogan
Priceless commentary from Sir Terry the speed king, "Slow and steady wins the race." Not on the Top Gear track Wogan.
Jonathon Ross
The first man in a suit to drive the reasonably priced car. He couldn't shut up, he got lost, but he was still light years ahead of Wogan.
Johnny Vegas
Top Gear got the L plates out for a Dukes of Hazard inspired lap from Johnny Vegas who showed no fear on the track!
The crazy
Ian Wright
Wrighty’s first track day ever, he was fast and absolutely crazy behind the wheel. Camera men watch out.
Damian Lewis
Damian Lewis tackles the snow to get a lap time in. He tops the fastest in snow (in a leader board of one) but not much else.
The Champions
Dame Ellen Macarthur
Three go cart sessions under her belt and she comes out with the fastest lap in the Suzuki Liana.
Jay Kay
On a mission to beat Simon Cowell, Jay Kay comes out top in the Chevrolet Lacetti.
Matt LeBlanc
Matt LeBlanc stole the show with the fastest lap time in the Kia, and the fastest time EVER!
Lewis Hamilton
Finally back in the days of the Suzuki Liana it was Lewis Hamilton who put the rest of the drivers to shame. Put an F1 champion in a reasonably priced car and watch the disappointment at the paltry 56mph.
